Krystle || Lifestyle Photography || Long Beach

My best friend Krystle needed some photos done to promote a dance class she was going to teach up in the NorCal area. With her being a dancer as well as an avid basketball player, I wanted to show off all the different sides of her bright, energetic personality. I styled her up in some Stussy and Nike gear and shot some fun photos around the residential area near CSULB. It’s always a fun time when you get to run around and shoot some creative photos with a close friend.

Baby Caspian || Family Session || Griffith Observatory

Catherine and Alex contacted me to photograph their adorable son Caspian this past November at the Griffith Observatory. We were blessed with the naturally warm California weather that day and we had such a fun time shooting around in and around the observatory grounds. The challenge about photographing babies/children is getting them to look and smile at the camera. Having Catherine and Alex play a part in the creative process made the experience that much more enjoyable for everyone. As a photographer, your eye has to be glued to that viewfinder and you gotta be quick on the trigger when those fun moments happen. Capturing milestones in a family’s life like this reminds me of why I got into photography in the first place. Can’t wait to see this little guy grow up!

Beauty By Doris || Portrait Photography || Downtown Long Beach

I recently got connected with an up-and-coming makeup artist, Doris Chen (@dolledupdoris) through some mutual friends we had. We set up a quick little portrait shoot with two of my good friends who were down to model and showcase her awesome makeup work. With Michelle, Doris went for a bolder and more dramatic look. I followed suit by photographing her with that vibe in mind. With Morgan, she went with a lighter, more natural type of feel with her makeup. Collaborating with a talented makeup artist and a few friends to create some artistic portraits is as simple as it gets. My objective for this shoot was to try to find different ways of lighting a subject while making sure I was showcasing the details in the makeup. Thanks Michelle, Morgan and Doris for collaborating with me! =)
