Went with Keena and Allen to the Santa Ana Zoo which was really fun. I never knew there was a zoo so close to my house in the middle of all this concrete. It was definitely fun running around the zoo and just being crazy. It didn’t take long for Allen to really get the hang of things and loosen up. I don’t think most of my couples ever expect to get as crazy as we do… but we do! and it was so easy with Keena and Allen since almost from the getgo I had Allen acting like the zoo animals. Theres a great shot of Allen crawling out of his bird egg and trying to fly away that I love. Key to a great session is lots of fun positive energy, and we had tons of it. Can’t wait to see Keena’s little boy in a few weeks! Till then, enjoy prego-hood :) Please enjoy.

Keena + Allen | Maternity Session | Santa Ana Zoo
Wednesday, May 16th, 2012Keena + Allen | Maternity Session | Teasers
Monday, April 9th, 2012I had this Easter weekend off from weddings with a sudden reschedule for a few months from now, but I gladly filled it in with an awesome couple and friends of mine, Keena and Allen. Keena chose the Santa Ana Zoo as her backdrop and just wanted to have a nice natural but unique location. I’ll tell you more about this when the photos are all done, don’t want to get ahead of myself here. So till then, please enjoy!

Thursday, September 15th, 2011Normally shooting at the fair would be extremely easy as there’s so much going on and so much to do, but we got there just a little bit before sunset, so I really had my work cut out for me. Nevertheless and as expected there was pretty nice light at the fair and we made great use of the time. On top of that Oli and Jenn are just so naturally comical that whatever pose I got them into, they would really make the most of it. Jenn It was a really fun time at the fair and I got to stretch my creativity muscles a bit. Please enjoy!

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011Some of you may remember this couple because I did their photos a while back on the train tracks. Its framed in my office, on my marketing for the knot.com advertisement, use to be my splash page photo on my website, and is on her ipad haha. Well, the best part about being a wedding photographer, other than traveling, meeting new people, crashing weddings ;), and doing what i love – ok well maybe not the BEST thing! But one of the coolest things is the fact that I can follow some of my favorite couples throughout their entire lives. So whats next after the wedding? Maternity pictures, baptisms, baby pictures, family pictures, eventually graduation pictures and whats that? Another wedding! haha okay i’m getting ahead of myself but hey, I look to the future alot; I’m trying to be a visionary here! :D So anyway, I shot Joey and Ryans maternity shots in studio and we did some really creative stuff, hope you like them!
Please enjoy responsibly.
There’s always that moment when you just know you got the shot. This was definitely the shot we were looking for.
And definitely my favorite photo of the session :)

Sunday, April 18th, 2010So these past couple days i’ve been shooting shooting shooting really trying to do as i’ve said in previous post, find myself, succumb to my self, and find my style of shooting, and every day i shoot, this last week, i feel like i’m creating a piece of art in someones life. Tonight was the first night that i was able to relax, after doing a couples shoot yesterday, krystles shoot on wednesday, broadcasting on thursday, and a maternity shoot today, i have tons of stuff to edit. I haven’t even gotten to blog previews. So before i actually get down to business, here’s the first preview of the maternity shoot i did today with Cathy and Marc. This wonderful couple, and when i say wonderful, i’m not giving them enough credit, these two are just amazing. I enjoyed their company so much, Gaby and I loved how we were able to relate and talk about kids, weddings, families, (Gaby and I have been hanging out around lots of married couples lately, so we talk about that stuff alot now). By the end of the shoot i felt like we’ve made two great new friends and I certainly must rank this shoot among one of my favorites.
We parked at my parents office in Santa Monica and walked a couple blocks to the Santa Monica pier where tons and tons of people were walking around, I wasn’t sure how to approach all the people around honestly, since i’ve usually shot in pretty intimate secluded areas, but i’m glad it was like this because i got to try new things, and really make some dynamically composed images. We ended up walking around, getting some ice cream and shooting on the pier for a while, and the crowds of people played very nicely into the fun carnival atmosphere of the pier. Eventually we walked down to the beach where we finished the shoot in the walkway planks, water, and under the pier. Ultimately, this one location, one outfit change shoot, lasted 3 and half hours, There was so much to do and it was so fun time just passed by. Thank you for asking me to shoot your maternity session Cathy and Marc, My gear is all clean and safe and nothing was scratched or wet. :) I hope you the best for you and your first son! Hope you like the pics. Here are my favorites from today…

Afterward they picked out there pictures and left to get some food. 30 minutes later they came back and all the pictures were done.
