Sailor Moon Series | Sailor Pluto

Woah! I can’t believe that we’re already at Sailor Pluto!  That means there’s only Sailor Mini Moon, Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask part 2 (which I’m pretty sure is going to be King Endymion instead), and Neo Queen Serenity.  Initially I wasn’t going to add the last two, but I came up with looks for them already and I figured, why not?  So Sailor Pluto is probably my favorite Sailor Scout of them all.  She was the super cool, super tall, super mysterious one and I loved her.  While searching online, I saw a lot of discrepancies concerning her color scheme but after looking at tons of photos, it looks like her colors on her uniform are black and red.  I decided to add green to this look as well to incorporate her hair color and to add a little bit more to this look.  I hope you guys enjoy!

Urban Decay | Sale time!

So Urban Decay has put all of their old eyeshadows on sale for $9 amongst a number of other products and I figured I’d share it with you guys if you didn’t already know!  Urban Decay recently reformulated all of their eyeshadows for their new customizable palette so of course they are trying to get rid of their old stock.  They’ve got a few palettes on sale for super cheap as well…The Black Palette for $16? That’s a steal!  I was never a fan of Urban Decay’s old eyeshadow packaging, but for $9, I really can’t complain.  I think I’m going to pick up a few and end up depotting them.  I believe their lipsticks are on sale for $8 right now as well which is almost as cheap as buying lipstick from the drug store! :) It’s the perfect time to stock up on new makeup before the school year starts and maybe even to get a head start on Christmas shopping!

lol how clever 😛

Sailor Moon Series | Sailor Neptune

Sorry for the late post!  I was in Vegas this past weekend with Justin and some of our close friends celebrating our birthdays. :)  I’ve been playing around with how I was going to create Sailor Neptune’s look for almost a week now and I still really didn’t have anything solid until this morning.  To be honest, I wasn’t planning on making this look so…out there but I was browsing through different magazines this morning and saw this amazing double eyeliner look that I wanted to try.  The eyeliner work on this took me a super long time.  I had to redo it a few times because I just wasn’t happy with how the bottom eyeliner looked so it took me  a good part of the morning to get this finished.  Since this look is a little bit more avant garde than the other looks I don’t think you’d want to go out shopping with this look but who knows!  Makeup is an art form and no one can tell you what and what not to do.  So let’s continue, shall we?

I was really debating putting a full face look for this just because I thought it looked funny but mehhh, here you go!

Furless Cosmetics

Recently, I’ve been looking into more cruelty free makeup brands and am pleasantly surprised with how many makeup brands out there make it a point to make vegan and animal friendly products.  I stumbled upon Furless Cosmetics through Facebook a few weeks ago and have been totally intrigued with their company.  They are an Australian based company who strive to be a cruelty free and vegan brand.  All of their brushes are synthetic and they even have a whole list of reasons why you synthetic brushes are amazing.

Taken from Furless.com.au:

Why Choose Furless Makeup Brushes?

  • Synthetic bristles don’t need to be sterilised like animal hair does, making our brushes more hygienic and hypoallergenic!
  • Synthetic brushes don’t dry out like animal fur does!
  • Because Furless brushes don’t dry out, they don’t become coarse and scratchy like animal fur does!
  • Furless brushes last FAR longer than animal fur!
  • Synthetic fibres are FAR softer than animal fur!
  • Due to advancements in technology, the bristles in our Furless brushes have been crimped to mimic animal hair, to pickup and hold powders like fur does. The argument that synthetic hair does not hold powder is no longer valid!
  • There is no need for animal involvement whatsoever!
  • All our products are 100% vegan and Halal friendly!
I’m actually working on reviewing a few different brands of synthetic brushes coming up soon, and I’m thinking about getting a few of these to try out to review here as well.  I just wanted to share this information along to you guys because the whole issue about animal testing and animal cruelty in the makeup world is huge right now. :)
I hope you all have a wonderful wonderful weekend, I shall be going crazy in Vegas this weekend but I’ll be back early next week with Sailor Neptune’s look! <3

Sailor Moon Series | Sailor Uranus

I knew for Sailor Uranus I wanted to do something a little bit more edgy because hello, she’s Sailor Uranus!  I still remember in the American version all the girls were in love with her because they thought she was a guy. LOL. But really, you have to love the androgynous look.  I also figured, since I used pricier products for Tuxedo Mask’s look, I’d use drugstore products for this one to show that you can get great products from more affordable makeup brands.  I used mostly NYX products for this, which you can find at a lot of small boutiques and at Ulta.  They also have deals on their website all the time so make sure to take a look once in a while. :)

Sailor Moon Series | Tuxedo Mask Look 1

So no joke, Tuxedo Mask was my first boyfriend.  I kid you not, although I’m sure he was every girl’s first boyfriend.  You know, nothing wins me over than a guy who throws roses at enemies….>__> BUT REALLY. Okay, enough of that, and more onto makeup.  For Tuxedo Mask I was really debating whether I wanted to do a super loud lip look or a crazy smokey eye and I really couldn’t make up my mind so I decided to do both.  Not at the same time, mind you, but today I wanted to do a really vibrant red lip look.  Maybe I’ll even create a makeup mask!  Since the other looks in this series have been a little bit more out there, I decided to go for a more classic look that everyone can wear (because I’m pretty sure not everyone would want to wear the looks I made up for the inner Sailor Scouts).  For those of you who do enjoy the more fun looks don’t worry, I’m working on Sailor Uranus tomorrow and I’ve got some crazy ideas for her.  Like really, yellow and teal everywhere. Now, where was I?

Oh that’s right, Tuxedo Mask.  If I went on a date with Tuxedo Mask, this is probably how I would apply my makeup.  Lol where is this coming from?  Less daydreaming more pictures so here you guys go.

I forgot to mention, I finally found my perfect red lip while I was doing this look. 😀 It’s a little bit unconventional but I think I’ve found a red lip that doesn’t either make me look like an oompa loompa or totally washed out.

Okay, so I know that this look used a crap ton of MAC products but any colors that are similar are always always always fine.  That’s the fun of makeup! You don’t have to stick to just one thing, you know?  There are plenty of amazing, affordable products out there, and actually I’m planning to make my Sailor Uranus look with mostly NYX products (which I’m sure many of you know is super duper affordable.)

Have a great week everyone! I’m going to go watch some more Sailor Moon Now. :)

Sailor Moon Series | Sailor Venus + New Hair!

Woooo I hope everyone’s having a great weekend!  Sorry for the lack of posting the past couple of days…I was celebrating my birthday this week! 😀 Anywayy I have Sailor Venus’s inspired look for you all today.  AND I WANTED TO SHOW YOU ALL MY NEW HAIR!  If you guys are my friends on Facebook you’ve probably already seen it but I love love love it. :) Chris from Salon 25 surprised me with this super amazing hair style and now I am Vegas ready!  I literally didn’t know what they were doing with my hair up until they were finished and this is probably my most favorite hair color/style to date.  I think my Sailor Venus makeup look goes super well with it too, don’t you?  If you guys ever want to do something amazing with your hair you definitely have to go to Salon 25.  Vanessa, Chris, and the team are all so spectacular and I swear it feels like my home away from home.

So, with the completion of Sailor Venus, the inner scouts are done (with the exception of Sailor Moon, but I’m pushing her look towards the end).  So coming up next will be Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, along with Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Mini Moon.  I think I might try looks for Luna and Artemis as well but we’ll see. :) Anyway, less talking, more pictures! I hope you all enjoy!

Oh…I almost forgot to mention, I was going to use fake lashes for this look but I had SUCH a difficult time with the lashes I was going to use I just gave up lol.  I’ll have to write a review for them…even though I already tossed them in the trash because I was so freaking pissed off at them. >:[

Eeeeep my hair is so cooool! I’ve been getting a lot of interesting nicknames because of it but that’s fine. :)

I really need to remember to pin back my bangs whenever I take photos.

OOOOOOOH :)

Sephora + Pantone Universe | Shades of Nature Eye Shadow Palette

I totally forgot that I haven’t blogged about this, sorry guys!  I got this palette a little over a month ago and I am so in love with it.  If you’ve been following my Sailor Moon Makeup Series, you probably noticed that I’ve used this for like…every look.  I seldom buy Sephora brand products just because I’ve never been happy with any of them, until now that is!  Sephora and Pantone Universe have teamed together to come up with a variety of different products, including this palette.  This palette comes with 35 different eyeshadows and the range of it is pretty vast.  There are pretty pinks and these super amazing blues and teals that I am so happy with.  And doesn’t the packaging look gorgeous?!  It also comes with a full size mirror which comes in handy.  Seriously you guys, this thing is huge and perfect for travel.  The few things I do have issues with with this palette is that the majority of the eye shadows have a frosty, kind of satin finish.  There aren’t too many matte finishes, and I really love playing with different textures with my makeup looks.  Also, the payoff of the purple colors aren’t that great, but they are decent.  Lastly, a few of the eye shadows are a little bit powdery, but not enough to really complain a lot about.  But if Sephora keeps putting out products similar to the quality of this palette, I think I’ll find myself buying more of Sephora’s makeup.  I believe this palette retails for $55 which I think is definitely a deal!

If you are following the palette, these swatches are from top to bottom, left to right.

Lol…I have such warm undertones that the orange shades blend into my skin ;__;

I was expecting these purples to be more POW IN YOUR FACE purples but they were more like “oh, here I am” purples.

The grays in this palette are amaaaazing for traditional smokey eyes.

EEEK. Don’t these blues remind you of mermaids?!

Sailor Moon Series | Sailor Jupiter

Whenever I think of Sailor Jupiter, I think of watermelons.  Weird, right?  But her pink and green color combination always makes me think about it.  Anyways, here’s my look for Sailor Jupiter!  I actually did a look for her yesterday but didn’t end up liking how it photographed so I redid it today and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. :)  I decided to bring out the white eyeliner for this, which is rare.  But I figured the white would make the pink and green in this look really pop out! I had a hard time finding the right shade of green I wanted to use so I did have to mix two shades together to get it to where I wanted it.  But all in all, I had a great time with this look (even if it took me two days to get it right) and hope you all enjoy!

Sorry for the awkward face….lol I think I got tired from taking so many pictures xD

Sailor Moon Series | Sailor Mars

Next up is Sailor Mars!  I always figured if I were ever a Sailor Scout, I’d be Sailor Mars.  She’s mouthy, sarcastic and has this tough love thing going on that I find extremely similar to me.  Plus, her colors are red and purple, which are my two favorite colors.  So for Sailor Mars I decided to do a kind of purple smokey eye look with a bright pop of red in the middle of my lids.  This came out even better than I thought it originally would have.  I like this look a lot because it just looks like a regular purple smokey eye when my eyes were open but whenever I blinked or closed my eyes, the red I placed on the center of my lids would show, giving it a fun twist.

Oops, I need to pluck my eyebrows >:]

Since my eyes were so dramatic I decided to keep everything else pretty toned down.  I feel like most of the looks will focus on the eyes but I’ll see what I can do to incorporate a nice bold lip look in this series. :)
