Best of 2017 || Tying the Knot || Ceremony and Reception

We’re rolling out the last two Best of 2017 wedding images! This set is from the bulk of the day, candid moments caught either from a far or from my personal interaction with my couple and their guests. This is what being a photographer is about, putting yourself out there and meeting people on more than just the surface level. I love my job because it’s what I’d love to do everyday. Hope you love these images, please enjoy!

Best of 2017 || Rise and Shine || Details and Getting Ready

I actually believe the morning of a wedding is the hardest part of the wedding to cover. Within about 2 hours and sometimes less in the morning when we arrive at a wedding, I’m focused on making sure we find a place to gather our gear, unpack everything, meet all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, family and any friends, grab the details and shoot creative shots of the dress and rings and things, make sure to capture both sides doing toasts, card readings, gift exchanges, and getting ready, as well as decor, special moments, ALL WHILE pushing their timeline and making sure we’re on time. Alot of photographer’s know this all needs to be shot, but alot of photographers may fall short. And if i don’t get every shot, I wouldn’t be worth my salt. This stressful part of the day deserves its own blog post in my Best of 2017 weddings, hope you enjoy them!

Best of 2017 || Save the Date: Engagement Sessions

I missed our chance last year to do the 2016 best of weddings selections, so since my 2018 resolution is to “handle it”, I’ve made sure to have just some of my favorites from 2017 ready to go. I couldn’t go back and pick everything I really wanted but I did get alot of my favorites from each wedding I shot myself this last year. 2017 was a new year with new adventures and new worlds for me, this year I plan to focus on myself and grow in ways I never thought I could. Thanks to all my couples who have trusted in me and my team to capture their wedding days, and especially here in this set of my favorites from their engagement sessions shot in 2017.

I love engagement sessions because it gives me the opportunity to get to know my couples and for them to get to know me as well as receive a taste of how I direct and shoot. Engagement sessions also give me true creative reign with storyboarding, compositions, and really making fun poses and compositions without worrying about the constraints of time and formal clothing. Hope you love these images from the year and can’t wait to push the envelope in 2018. Please enjoy!
