Rowena & Kent Married – 888 Seafood Restaurant, Rosemead CA

I’m back! Sorry it’s been so long since i’ve blogged, I’ve had an amazing birthday month till now and have been doing so much these past couple weeks. But i’m ready more than ever to get down to business. Starting today its going to be a busy couple weeks, I’ll be preparing for the weddings in September and all the family shoots and engagement sessions we’ve booked. Its going to be incredibly fun as were going to San Francisco for Adrienne and Jamel’s Wedding and Trash the Dress session, which you may remember from back in April’s blog posts and their engagement session. Immediately after that were going to San Diego for Erik and Stephs wedding following Agnes and Daniels engagement session. We have some family sessions, headshots, and Kaba Modern Legacy photosession coming the weeks after also. Its going to be a great Autumn Season!

So starting it off was Ro and Kent’s beautiful wedding. There were over 600 guests at this wedding and the entire restaurant was packed front to back. They served a full course dinner from lobster to peking duck, shrimp, fried rice, and all the bells and whistles. I was able to cover parts of the reception but really got to invest my time into a new project that partner Khai Ly and I have ventured into. We now offer the onsite printing photobooth at wedding receptions which ended up being a BLAST. we put up a professional studio photobooth up during the wedding and guests come in and take a picture or two and we print it immediately. They get to play with props, mess around, and have professional photos taken of them – and after 20 seconds, they get to take home a keepsake from the wedding. I had so much fun Saturday night and everyone loved this photobooth, so make sure to hire us for your wedding or your friends reception ASAP! Here are some of Kent and Ro’s pictures from the wedding, I hope everyone had a good time as I did. Congratulations Kent and Ro! More photo’s can be seen here.

Please enjoy responsibly.

Eloloment Shootout 2.0 – Laguna Beach, CA

Lawrence Tolentino of Lolophoto.com and I have been throwing shootouts for the younger photographic community so people can meet others, shoot for fun, and just get out there in the community and practice, learn, and share some knowledge and passion they have for their art. Lawrence and I have thrown maybe 3 or 4 of these in the past but we’ve made this one at Laguna Beach our 2nd official shootout since we started this group officially on facebook. Hence 2.0!

Anyway it was alot of fun and i love how we all were able to get together and just share the experience. Over the long months of a photographers work, things may end up getting repetitive and loopy, especially when it becomes your career, but things like this always help stir things up again.

This time around we went out with a group of photographers, total throughout the day was about 30 or so members and we shot at my favorite spot in Laguna Beach, behind the Montage Resort. The area was absolutely beautiful again and the sky and weather was perfect. We practiced some natural light techniques, composition, modeling and communicating strategies, and I helped people with some solid flash work. Great help was passed around, I even got to try some new compositions thanks to the others who went. Thank you to our awesome models who all went, especially the couples Kat Blanco and Mendrick Leelin, and Tony Tran and Maricar Vidal. You guys were awesome.

don’t foreget to check out the facebook group page if you’d like to make the next one or just see more pictures from all the photographers that participated.

Keep shooting, keep asking questions, keep learning! Please enjoy responsibly.

The way you tweeked the sky in some of those first shots was pretty cool. How did you achieve that look?

JUSTINELEMENT - 08/24/2010 - 11:05 am

thanks jp – just played with the sliders on the color saturation, luminance, and hue mostly, along with some other histogram work and curves work. playing with the editor :)

Jennifer & Sy’s Fifth Anniversary Photo Session – Laguna Beach, CA

Photographer: Justinelement

Assistants: Ryan Ly, Gaby Manalo

My sister and her husband have been married for five years now and have two sons. They wanted to do something special for their anniversary so they wanted a memorable photoshoot to put on their living room coffee table. My sister asked me to set up a shoot at the beach for her and Sy and for the kids. Sy’s nephew and nieces also accompanied us on this picnic at the beach day. I never really took pictures like this of my family members, so this was a little different than most shoots. After a little bit my sister and Sy both got comfortable posing in front of the camera, for their baby brother :) hope you like the pictures! Please enjoy responsibly.
