Caritina and Danny Engaged – Seal Beach, CA

I’m hittin’ em out of the park this week! Here’s another engagement session that I punched out during this busy busy month and it was a fun one! I was privileged to work again with Scott Yoshimoto of MOVeMEDIA Productions who did the videography for this session. I’m excited to post up the video when he gets it finished. We shot this session back at my comfy zone of Seal Beach and took advantage of all the small businesses that are really welcoming to the community here. We were lucky enough to shoot inside of a Hair Salon, something was just calling me in. Take this as a lesson! Think of the crazy, you never know if someone will let you shoot somewhere you shouldn’t be. During the Ballard-Dool wedding 2 months prior, the security guard let us shoot inside the trolley and those pictures came out amazing! This time around we just asked politely and it got us a long way. After shooting inside the Even More Hair Salon in Seal Beach we headed to the beach to finish up the session. It was a very vintage style shoot so the photos are editted a little bit differently, but just this time only since Caritina really wanted to have a vintage theme. Either way, I mixed it up a little bit, mostly vintage but with a touch of JustinElement. Hope you enjoy!

Scouting and Lighting Work

11 more days till I set out for Thailand and i’m hurrying to tie up all my loose ends on the states side. I don’t want to head to Thailand unprepared along with edits still open on my desktop and lots of work left to do when i come back. I’d rather come back with only Thailand and my future weddings to worry about. So among the many many things i’ve been doing, I went ahead and did a scout session at disneyland for Eileen and Brian’s E-Session next month. Gaby and my passes expired last week so we made sure to make it before we got the boot. We met up with friends Jeannie and Ralph who were happy to pose last minute for us and I got to experience with light balance, probably the most important thing about impromptu lighting. I got some good ideas, solid compositions, and was happy with the balance in the end result. What topped it all off was while we were in front of the castle that night, we saw a couple just get engaged, well I saw the end as the guy got up from his one knee, but everyone else saw it! Either way I was privileged to take a few shots for them so they could remember their amazing moment. Hope you like the scouting shots!

this last one was taken by ralph. Thanks Ralph!
