Greetings From Thailand

Hey guys! I finally got reliable Internet, so as I’ve promised, i’m updating you. I promise my future Thailand posts will be more in depth but I wanted to at least get out one or two pictures for you guys. I arrived in Bangkok Thailand 2 days ago and stayed at the Bangkoknoi hotel, I did a little bit of site seeing and a did a pre engagement session with my lovely couple Panlavee (PB and Rose). I had some really good Thai food, checked out the golden palace, the emerald buddah, and checked into a spa and massage at the end of the day. Today was a little bit more of the site seeing and I moved into PV and Roses condo and set up camp here.

Tommorrow were going to shoot the prenup (engagement) shoot in the ruins of the old Thailand capital. I’m excited to shoot there so stay tuned for some crazy stuff. Here’s a taste of whats been happening.

p.s – I hate mosquitos!

WOW ! I'm happy that you're getting to experience new things Justin. Keep going at it !

A YEAR FULL OF MOMENTS

So I’m sitting waiting for my laundry to get done and trying to keep my luggage under 50 pounds. I barely had enough clothes to go through a week and a half in Thailand and most of my luggage ends up being camera weight. I figure with the extra time I really wanted to reflect on this year, let alone this trip. It’s got me thinking about what’s happened this year and where I was back in December of 2009. What was I doing in December 2009? I think I was finishing up my first semester at the Art Institute, I just finished an intro class to photography, hahaha, and I was still deciding on what I wanted to focus on in photography.

Wow.

Since then I’ve worked for the amazing Pete Tangen in the Hollywood Industry. I Interned for KrisD Mauga or Krashing Motions Wedding Photography. I invested into my business. I launched my website and blog, decided I wanted to be a wedding photographer… and I booked my first wedding.

Since then I was privileged to shoot 11 more weddings this year and continued to book 12 more for next year. I’ve been able to meet amazing people and shoot tons of family sessions, birthdays, headshots, and events. I’ve got to involve myself with photographer and bridal communities like smugmug and the knot and have traveled all over California for weddings now.

I hope 2011 brings as much adventure and joy this year has brought me. I hope to stare for hours at some of the work of my favorite photographers like Todd Laffler, Ed Pingol, and Ja Tecson, and still find many more hours staring at other photographer’s work to ooh and ahh over. I hope to be one step closer to booking an international wedding in Italy or France or some exotic location and travel as much as the good Lord permits me. I pray for good health and happiness for all my couples that have trusted in my photography, along with kids for me to photograph! And I wish many more adventures, shootouts, and amazing moments for all my fellow photographers out there and that the fire of our passion, to never go out.

Thank you to you for reading my blog and through that at least being a distant supporter. Thank you for all of you who have referred my work, even if it was a breathe lost in air, the fact that you’ve shared my work, or at least mentioned my website means so much. Thank you for all of you who’ve let me practice and shoot you for no reason but to shoot, for you who critiqued my work or told me how much it sucked. ☺ Thank you for you who’s shown me better angles, better lighting, and better photographers, you’ve helped me on my way to finding my style. Thank you to you who emailed me questions and asked me to take you out and shoot, teaching is the best way of learning. Thank you to my family, you who supported me from the very beginning, and to my teachers and all my friends who’ve helped me in my work. And definitely couldn’t have done it without my girlfriend Gaby who has helped me every step of the way. I’ve never known someone more supporting and loving.

Thank you everyone for the amazing year, may God bring us even more blessings in 2011! Happy New Year!

and now i’m off to Thailand! I’ll post travel photos in a couple days!

My Dad’s Christmas Birthday Party . Marriott Hotel, Fullerton

So my dad turned fifty something today, still looks so young though, and wayyy more in shape than I am. I really need to start gettin back to 24 hour fitness! Maybe in Thailand I can lose some weight in the humidity? haha. So my dad’s birthday is on none other than Christmas Day, we always get him one gift which is the curse of christmas birthday combined, but I try my best to get him something that would be worth TWO gifts. This year i got him a really nice Leather Members only jacket, and he wore it immediately the next day at the Christmas Party. My dad is the rock of my family and when he hosted this party we all came out of the woodwork to put something together. It was a small room with only 30 of his closest friends but we made it into a full fledged birthday event. Talk about connections, and how can we say no to our dad right? So ofcourse I covered the photography, my brother did the impromptu videography, and my sister and her family did the photobooth. Have you ever seen a full team working at a 30 person party?! Amazing stuff, all we needed was a florist, some some rings, and a wedding dress and we would have had a Wedding.

Anywho, it was lots of fun hanging with the fams again, check out my sisters company Flash Life Photobooths. They’re changing the ways of the photobooth so book them as soon as you can. The rest of the pictures can be found on here.

Hope you enjoy!
