Jackson “Jax Attacks!” Marsh | Newborn Baby | The Marsh Residence

Joey and Ryan, of my favorite railroad photo shoot, had their first born baby, Jackson last week. I was invited over to do a newborn at home session with them. I love using the babies surroundings and environment in these shots, really focusing on the baby, and the house he or she will be raised in. This way in the future when you see these photos, you remember not only the photos of the baby, but the place he or she grew up in. Please enjoy, newborn baby Jackson, or Jax as you may call him.

Dude. I’ve been checking out your work. I love the lighting and the composition of your shots. Any advice for a fellow photographer who’s driving to build up a portfolio?

Thanks a bunch! It just takes a lot of practice and dedication. Look at your favorite work and always try to recreate it your own way :)

Bookmark your favorite photographers and always look at their work for inspiration. Somehow when you’re shooting it’ll reflect in your work. Just keep at it and your work will just get better and better. Best of luck Daniel

Anneli and Carlos | Engaged | UCLA, Abbot Kinney

Anneli and Carlos’ e-session was a couple weeks back and we went to Abbot Kinney in Venice and UCLA, all in the LA area. Anneli is the sister of an old friend from college, Aylene, and when we met a few months back, they knew that my style was what they were looking for. Since Anneli and Carlos are a really fun loving, relaxed, and always laughing couple, this shoot went by smoothly and they trusted me with all my random quirky ideas. Thanks for jumping up on a dumpster for me Anneli and for hanging off poles and street posts and climbing up walls Carlos. The fun we had really shows in the photos. Hope you like them! Ofcourse make up and assisting by Gaby Manalo.

Enjoy this slideshow with the entire set to their special song, set adrift by memory bliss by pm dawn, or scroll on to see my favorites.
