I was really able to delve into Erin and Rocky’s mind during their engagement session last month. Erin and Rocky took us out to Downtown LA where Rocky showed me his love for kicks and a really cool consignment store called Rift in Little Tokyo. afterwards we took a stroll around DTLA and I brought them to one of my favorite places, the Graffiti Walls. Erin and Rocky were down for anything and were ready to jump around, get into tight spaces, and be just, “goofy” for our session. I can’t thank them enough for making it so easy for me to capture there moments. Can’t wait to see you guys in a few weeks for your wedding! Please enjoy.

April 18th, 2012This Saturday was Erilen and Juan’s big day which I got to celebrate with some old familiar faces, Erilen’s sister Justine (whose wedding I did last fall) and family & friends were all present. It was nice reconnecting and definitely the type of wedding atmosphere I love love love. I’ve never been so relaxed shooting and I owe it all to them and their party and guests. I can already see it reflected in all the photos i’ve picked out, especially these! See you guys in a few weeks! Please enjoy!

April 13th, 2012Lily and Tony’s personalities fit perfectly with my style. They’re just one of those couples that you know when you look at them, they’re incredibly in love. Not just “I love you lets grow old together love”, but also the “I love you passionate romantic love”. Every time they held each other they were in the zone. You just knew they fit. I’m very glad to be shooting these two love birds and can’t wait to see them at their wedding. We had a shorter than normal session but what we lost in quantity we definitely made up in quality and thats what i’m all about. Thanks so much for choosing me Lily and Tony, hope you enjoy!

April 9th, 2012I had this Easter weekend off from weddings with a sudden reschedule for a few months from now, but I gladly filled it in with an awesome couple and friends of mine, Keena and Allen. Keena chose the Santa Ana Zoo as her backdrop and just wanted to have a nice natural but unique location. I’ll tell you more about this when the photos are all done, don’t want to get ahead of myself here. So till then, please enjoy!

You might remember Soratha and Patrick from the proposal and engagement session I did a couple months ago. There wedding was beautiful, from multiple ceremonies and traditional wardrobes to dragon dancers and a garden set exchange of vows. I have some amazing photos to share with you in a few weeks, but for now please enjoy these teasers! Congratulations Soratha and Patrick!

March 28th, 2012Margaux and Ray chose the beautiful Avia Hotel in DT Long Beach for their session. I love this location mainly because the hotel staff is really accomodating and lets you shoot anywhere in the hotel as long as you don’t create trouble. Every time I’ve shot there, they’ve helped us with shots and accessibility and have always been a great staff. Finding a place that allows you to shoot and even helps you a little bit are the best places to shoot. It may be tricky but in the end finding that spot makes everything worthwhile. Thanks again for trusting me with your photos Margaux and Ray, hope you love them! Please enjoy.

Share on FacebookSoratha + Patrick | Engaged | Jane Addams Elementary – Long Beach Poly High School – El Dorado Park
March 22nd, 2012Soratha and Patrick are planning their wedding in only 3 months!! and this isn’t going to be your typical wedding – Soratha and Patrick are having four different ceremonies, over 400 guests, and are visiting around 6 locations just on the day of their wedding. The itinerary and festivities are going to be incredible too, dragon dancers, live bands, the works. I wasn’t surprised when Patrick told me all his ideas for this engagement session either. I knew I would have some great moments to shoot.
To start this story off right though, I need to fill you in on their backstory. Soratha and Patrick have been together for lets just say forever. They’ve been planning for their wedding for a few months now, but never had actually proposed. So after we met and hashed out details for their “engagement session” they actually weren’t engaged officially yet, Patrick contacted me regarding his plan to propose to Soratha during the engagement session. He shared with me the story of how they met in Kindergarten at Jane Addams Elementary and how Soratha threw sand in his hair in the sandbox outside of the class. And yes, they met when they were five! Okay so now back to the present – unfortunately the sandbox was demolished and a regular playground was built in the kindergarten section of Jane Addams. Patrick determined, built a miniature sandbox out of styrofoam peanuts and wooden 4x4s. He brought some old chests, tricycles and an easel to paint on to really give the scene some character. After a few shots, Patrick went ahead and showed Soratha what he painted her on the easel. He had an entire story played out about Soratha and himself, finally culminating with an allusion to Shel Silverstein’s the Missing Piece, a childrens book about finding your missing piece. At the very end, Patrick turns the page to a Will You Marry Me page, and finally gets down on one knee….
That was just the beginning, we headed over to El Dorado Park, created some vintage backdrops, a giant red balloon, and naturesque scenes. Finally we stopped by our alma mater, Long Beach Poly where we all actually went to high school, dragged in a pink love seat and played with the idea of love in the randomest places. It seems like alot but we were able to crunch all of this under a few hours and still get some great shots. OK enough of the talking. lets see the work! Thanks Soratha and Patrick for being great models, and ofcourse to my lovely girlfriend Gaby for assisting.

March 20th, 2012Christine and Tim’s was my first official wedding of 2012. I started a little later than most wedding photogs I think, BUT i’ll be running through the entire year non stop. I’m glad to know that it didn’t feel like I missed a beat from my last wedding on December 30 last year and I came in with the right mentality. Christine and Tim were so afraid of the rain this last weekend, but we were so lucky the sun came out for an incredibly sunny day on Sunday. In the end finding good light wasn’t hard, just had to work the right angles. I’m excited to show you this amazing set, but once again you’ll have to wait a few weeks. Thanks again for being my first wedding of the year guys! Please enjoy these teasers.

March 18th, 2012Good friend and Colleague Lu Tran of Still Moments Studio asked me to shoot an engagement session with him while his team shot the videography. It was a really fun time and Nick and Griselda were so easy to work with. I love working with videographers because I get to see a whole different world of angles and ideas. On top of that I get much more time to think about the next shot while Lu and Cindy were getting theirs. If you’re looking for a videographer, make sure to check out his company, Still Moments Studio. Griselda and Nick, thanks so much for being an awesome and fun couple, hope you love your photos! Please enjoy.
