Iris + Mark | Married | Rancho Palos Verdes – Redondo Beach – Wayfarers Chapel Wedding

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

So December 30, 2011 was my last 2011 wedding and it was so much fun. Mark and Iris are an amazing couple who made shooting their wedding so easy. They’re having two wedding dates, this first one was their ceremony just for their close family and the second one later this year for their reception with their family and friends. They booked a plethora of my team of colleagues at the Bridal Lounge so their wedding day ran smoothly without any glitches. We shot at the Redondo Beach pier for their first look and continued to the Wayfarer’s Chapel for their ceremony. Mark and Iris have become good friends so shooting was so much easier and my creative juices were flowing. On top of that Mark and Iris were so good at being lovey dovey that these shots just came together. I can’t wait to get together with them for the next shoots and food binges. Thanks Mark and Iris for trusting me and hanging in there while waiting for the photos! Please enjoy!

Erilen + Juan | Engaged | Teasers

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

So there are a ton of really creative shots in this set. The gym shots were amazing, i loved the library shots, and some teachers even got in on the fun with the classroom shots. As you can tell we went back to Erilen and Juan’s old middle school where they met and unleashed havoc. You’re going to love their ideas. Can’t wait to show you these shots! For now, please enjoy the teasers.

JustinElement Hiring Photographers! Apply Here

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

2012 is just around the corner and I am looking for dedicated, passionate, amazing, well you don’t have to be amazing, BUT definitely driven photographers who would like to add to the Justin Element Team for the 2012 year.

We are usually a yearly rotating team that work at events including weddings, birthdays, parties, anniversaries, engagement sessions, after sessions and more. All individuals are hired contractual and paid per event and require formal attire and grooming when appropriate. Most events are on the weekends a flexible schedule is a must.

The assistant position is definitely a position for learning photographers. For the most part, you would accompany the team during any events or sessions, literally protect and safe guard equipment and memory cards, keep track of the day’s events and itinerary, assist with lighting and environment aesthetics, many a time bounce ideas and good shots back and forth with the shooters, and lastly play with our walkie talkie headsets. :)

The Associate Photographer position is the 2nd or even 3rd shooter at a wedding or other event and requires more experience and confidence. You will need a strong working knowledge of the DSLR and shooting techniques but still have a passion to hone your skills in photography. You will be trained in shooting in a similar style as myself and should be able to adapt and process information quickly; as well as interact with clients and provide creative feedback. You will be required to provide an online portfolio of your work and bring your DSLR to your interview.

I always get this really satisfying feeling whenever I meet with my couples and finish proofing their album. Its the last stop right before I finally give them their final product and completely having a satisfied customer. By then I can ususally say I’ve made some great new friends or strengthened our bonds between old ones. With Brian and Eileen it was a pleasure walking through their wedding journey together and I’m glad I can provide them with their suped up album. 46 pages, acryllic cover photo, and beautiful photos of them and their friends and family. Thanks for the amazing opportunity guys! Here is my design for their big day.

The Bridal Lounge at the Wedding Pantry

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

I was introduced to two amazing women, Eva and Mona, by one my clients, Natasha, a few weeks ago. Eva runs a beautiful shop in Tustin, The Wedding Pantry, which is a jewel for all the bride-to-bes and works side by side Mona who runs The Bridal and Event Lounge, your very own complimentary professional wedding planning service. Together they offer everything you can ever need to have your very own chic, timeless wedding. When I first visited, I knew I had to bring Gaby in and like I thought, she loved the place. From veils, giveaways, decor, to a caterer, venue, videographer or even honeymoon plans, this place has everything you need. I tell every one of my brides to check this place out, since they’ll find some great deals and some of the best vendors. You’ll even find my work there as I’m officially part of the Bridal Lounge Family link at the bottom of this page. So if you have a free afternoon, check it out, shoot them an email, or if your just looking around for some ideas or vendors – stop by. I promise you won’t regret it. Gaby probably knows way more about this place than I do, so shoot her a message, or maybe she’ll write a little something on her blog too. Here’s a little virtual tour sneak peek!

PAC Modern 2010-2011 Team Photo Shoot – CSULB

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Sooo it’s Valentine’s weekend and I’m at it Sunday morning working like crazy to get these photos out. It’s really hard getting behind but I’ll soon be all caught up. Thanks to all my clients for being so patient by letting me postpone my deadlines and moving around engagement sessions. My health is almost back to 100%. So in the hurricane of responsibilities I had this week, here is PAC Modern collegiate dance team. I was happy to work with these guys–many of them old friends. We did the entire shoot in the parking structure and created a really dark, edgy concrete look. Their final shots were Lady Gaga themed which were incredible. I loved taking dramatic pictures of these guys especially the ones near the end of the shoot. Also, thanks to the team for taking me and Gaby to Cheesecake Factory for our Valentine’s Day dinner! :)

Some of the team had make-up done by: Gaby Manalo
Assistants: James Macasaet and Kim Yao

Kaba Legacy – Final Product – JUSTINELEMENT Studio

Friday, October 15th, 2010

After weeks of working, and I mean WEEEKS. i’ve probably finished the most time consuming and hardest project i’ve been up against. None of my finals, personal projects, or client projects have put me up to a test like this has been. But after countless hours of edit edit edit from setting up the planning stages, to a very editorial four light set up, to dramatic editting and detail oriented photoshopping, I got a final product that I am personally proud of.

Thursday, PJ came in to finish finalizing the composition of the final images and after a bottle of wine and 5 hours later, we spit out a clean new look for the Kaba Legacy Team. Hope you guys like it!

Thanks to everyone who was part of the production

Laura & Chris Texas to California – UC Irvine Campus

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Photographer: Justinelement

Assistant: Gaby Manalo

Hair and Make Up: Julie Le

Side Note: So I had TONS of pictures that were great, really funny pictures, pictures with laura and chris smushing noses, laughing, super lively active stuff, but I could only choose so many before I overwhelmed myself. So these are just a few of my favorites. Maybe Laura and Chris will post up the other 178 pictures :)

Chris and Laura got together the beginning of this year after meeting at their college orientation at UCR. They ended up having almost all the same classes together and Chris ended up tutoring Laura in calc. Laura told us that at first Chris ignored her, but Chris says it was because he “was too “shy” to talk to such a “pretty girl” like Laura”… good one Chris =D After a little “traditional” courting, they made it official. Now here’s where we are – the first year of college is over and Chris has to take his education elsewhere. Eventually both will be in med school, but Chris has to do it at UTA, the University of Texas. Its going to be hard for these two but anything worth it never came easy, and what they have is totally worth it. Long distance relationships are hard, but with the right pieces, the proper communication and LOVE, everything will be ok. I know they’ll be perfectly fine, and you’ll know too when you look at these pictures. Laura and Chris, I wish you two the best! Hope you enjoy their session, please enjoy responsibly.

Museums, the Lakers, and Food Comas

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Hi everyone, it’s Gaby again! :] So I’m here blogging once more because I told Justin that I would if he edited.  I guess I kind of backed myself into a wall on that deal because I’m pretty sure if I edited the pictures they would turn out horrendous.  Anyway, today we went Lied Discovery Childrens’ Museum in Las Vegas and it was actually really fun for everyone.  There was this activity that focused on water current and pressure that had Justin and Jorel occupied for a good half an hour or so.  And then there was this turntable thing that I can barely even described that had the entire family captivated for a while too!  I kind of wish I went to this place when I was younger because I was so ready to go play dress up and sing with all the little 5 year olds but that probably would have looked a little strange.  After that we went to Chinatown and had yummy dimsum and then crashed out in the car for two hours.  We went to church after our siesta and had a pretty interesting time there. AND THEN WE WATCHED THE LAKERS TAKE DOWN THE SUNS which led to us celebrating at the buffet at M which was probably one of the best buffets I’ve eaten at nomnomnom.  Eww Justin just burped…anywhoo here are the pictures from today!

Jorel, Ashling, Jason and Hayden–roommates!

Element-2862

Table settings, yay! I thought I took this picture but I think that’s my hand at the top left corner, lol. :]

Element-2879

Matthew has such cute shoe socks! I wish they had these in different high heel styles, too. :]

Element-2890

Doesn’t Jason’s hair look familiar?  Styled by JustinElement.

Element-2894

I think Jason and Jonah have found their future calling as pilots.

Element-2952

Justin’s always wanted to be one of those people who flag down the planes.  I guess this was his only chance to do it since he’s a super special awesome ultra special sexy photographer. [Yes, that is from YuGiOh the abridged series...and yes. I watched them all.] MY HAIR IS HAUNTING YOU.

Element-2954

Jason was actually looking at a screen here and he had to be a soccer goalie, it was pretty funny to watch, lol.

Element-3070

Jason and Jonah being cuties, as always.

Element-3087

So that pretty much sums up our day.  I have a massive food coma right now and have a food baby so I suppose I should call it a night.  I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend, and I’ll probably see you guys here again tomorrow!<3Gaby
